In this exciting, traditionally-based workshop you will be shown the secrets of painting with pastels, the colours, and under-painting.

You will complete a painting with the help of some photos and an experienced tutor who will demonstrate techniques.

Learn to use this beautiful medium – it’s like painting in oils and drawing at the same time. Light over dark and dark over light. Soft pastels are pastels in their most basic form. They are water soluble, very soft in texture and generous in their application of colour, designed to cover large areas or intimate detail. Many layers can be built up to achieve beautiful impressionist techniques as well as detail and brilliant colour.
